Ahtisa Manalo Shines as Festejada in Mak Tumang’s Pahiyas Festival Masterpiece 🇵🇭

Bangkok, Thailand — Miss Universe Philippines Ahtisa Manalo captured attention at the Miss Universe 2025 National Costume Competition wearing a masterfully crafted ensemble by Mak Tumang, celebrating the richness of Filipino culture, tradition, and artistry.

Titled Festejada, the Queen of Philippines Festivals, the costume draws inspiration from the classic traje de mestiza, comprising the bell-sleeved camisa, flowing saya, and modest pañuelo, paying tribute to María Clara, an emblem of Filipina grace, modesty, and dignity.

Constructed from hand-embroidered piña fabric, the ensemble exemplifies Filipino craftsmanship. The skirt incorporates motifs from the nation’s most celebrated festivals: the Giant Lantern Festival of Pampanga, the Pahiyas Festival of Lucban, and the Panagbenga Festival of Baguio, blending history, artistry, and festivity.

The design embodies the essence of Filipino cultural heritage. Through her performance, Ahtisa Manalo personifies the brilliance, hospitality, and elegance inherent in the Filipino spirit on the Miss Universe stage.
