UAAP Cheerdance 2025 Inspires Fans to Wear White in Bold Stand Against Corruption

MANILA, Philippines – The UAAP Season 88 Cheerdance Competition (CDC) is set to return on November 29, 2025, at the Mall of Asia Arena, featuring not only high-level athletic performances but also a strong message of civic responsibility.

In a historic initiative, the league has encouraged spectators to wear white to signify their commitment to integrity and transparency, reinforcing the importance of accountability in public life. UAAP Season 88 President Fr. Rodel Cansancio of the University of Santo Tomas emphasized the role of sports in fostering values beyond competition.

“Cheerdance provides a platform to demonstrate our collective commitment to integrity. By wearing white, fans and supporters stand united against corruption,” Fr. Cansancio stated.

As part of the program, a special anti-corruption cheer will be presented prior to the start of the performances, marking the first time the CDC incorporates a formal advocacy element.

Team Themes for 2025

This year, each participating university will showcase a distinctive theme, reflecting creativity, cultural inspiration, and school identity:

• UP Pep Squad – Filipino Christmas

• UE Pep Squad – High School Musical

• Adamson Pep Squad – Exploration

• La Salle Animo Squad – Baseball

• Ateneo Blue Eagles – Sing

• NU Pep Squad – Ninja

• FEU Cheering Squad – Filipino Childhood Games

• UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe – Halloween

The performances will combine tumbling, stunts, pyramids, tosses, and choreographed routines, providing a comprehensive display of skill and artistry.

Judging and Evaluation

A panel comprising internationally certified judges alongside experienced local evaluators will assess the routines. Cheerdance Commissioner Paula Nunag highlighted that every aspect of the performance, from technique to presentation, will be meticulously evaluated to ensure fairness and transparency.

Significance Beyond Sports

The UAAP Cheerdance Competition represents more than a sporting event; it embodies youth advocacy, creativity, and civic engagement. This year’s edition demonstrates how school events can be leveraged to promote social responsibility while maintaining the highest standards of athletic excellence.
