Yulo scored 13.833 points in the eight-man final, recording 8.033 in execution and 5.600 in difficulty, with a 0.30 penalty.

Armenia’s Artur Davtyan captured the gold medal with 14.850 points, while Great Britain’s Jake Jarman claimed silver with 14.650. Norway’s Sebastian Sponevik secured bronze with 14.366.

Second Consecutive Final Without a Medal

Yulo’s seventh-place finish in the vault came a day after he placed eighth in the floor exercise final on Saturday, October 24.

The Filipino gymnast scored 13.233 points in the floor exercise, recording 7.633 in execution and 5.800 in difficulty, along with a 0.10 stick bonus and a 0.30 penalty.

The results marked a challenging campaign for Yulo, who entered the world championships after winning gold medals in both the floor exercise and vault at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.

Yulo’s Previous World and Olympic Success

Yulo previously won the world vault title in 2021 and 2025, establishing himself as one of the leading gymnasts in the apparatus.

He also made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics, winning gold medals in the men’s floor exercise and vault to become the Philippines’ first male Olympic gold medalist and the country’s first athlete to win two gold medals in a single Olympic edition.

Although he missed the podium in Rotterdam, Yulo’s achievements continue to highlight his importance to Philippine gymnastics and the country’s growing presence in international sports.

His latest world championships campaign ends without a medal in either of his two individual finals.
